Clay Veterans welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families. Volunteer opportunities range from direct support at the Veterans Center—such as welcoming visitors, assisting with programs, events, or technology help—to behind-the-scenes roles in outreach, fundraising, communications, and administrative support.

Whether you can give a few hours occasionally or serve on a more regular basis, there is a role that fits your skills, interests, and availability. Every contribution helps strengthen connection, reduce isolation, and ensure no Veteran is turned away. Support Services

Support Services volunteers are often the first point of contact for veterans and families seeking help. Volunteers listen with care, provide information, and connect individuals to the right resources—ensuring every veteran feels heard, respected, and supported from their very first interaction.

Open Door Program

Open Door volunteers help create a safe, welcoming space where veterans can relax, connect, and feel at home. By offering conversation, light activities, and a friendly presence, volunteers help reduce isolation and ensure each visit to the Veterans Center is warm, supportive, and meaningful.

Vet Tech

Vet Tech volunteers assist veterans and caregivers with navigating VA.gov, My HealtheVet, and other essential online tools. Through patient, step-by-step guidance, volunteers help ensure veterans can confidently access benefits, appointments, and information they have earned.

Family Support Services

Family Support Services volunteers provide compassionate assistance to caregivers and family members of veterans. By listening, sharing resources, and helping navigate services, volunteers strengthen the support network around veterans and ensure families feel informed, supported, and connected.

Grant Writing volunteers help secure funding that sustains and expands Clay Veterans programs. By researching opportunities and assisting with clear, compelling proposals, volunteers directly support long-term stability and ensure critical services remain available to veterans and their families.

Fundraising

Fundraising volunteers help generate the financial support that keeps Clay Veterans programs strong. By assisting with events, outreach, and donor engagement, volunteers play a key role in sustaining services and expanding opportunities for veterans and their families.

Marketing

Marketing volunteers help share the Clay Veterans mission with the wider community. By creating and distributing content, promoting events, and supporting outreach efforts, volunteers increase awareness, encourage participation, and connect more veterans and families to available services.

Website & Multimedia

Website and Multimedia volunteers support Clay Veterans’ online presence through content updates, visuals, and digital tools. By helping maintain a clear, engaging website and media assets, volunteers ensure veterans, families, and supporters can easily find information and stay connected.
