On March 28, 2026, hundreds of citizens gathered at the TAPS Monument in Green Cove Springs to honor the service and sacrifice of Vietnam Veterans during a heartfelt Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony. The event brought together veterans, families, community leaders, and supporters in a shared moment of remembrance and gratitude.
Set against the backdrop of the monument, the ceremony served as both a tribute and a reflection, recognizing not only the courage of those who served during the Vietnam War, but also the resilience they demonstrated in the years that followed.
Clay Veterans and the Veterans Council of Clay County proudly stood in recognition of these men and women, honoring their service, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to protecting those who would follow in their footsteps. Their legacy extends far beyond their time in uniform. Vietnam Veterans helped shape a cultural shift in how our nation welcomes home its service members, ensuring that future generations would be met with respect, appreciation, and open arms.
Today, because of their example, returning service members are greeted not with silence, but with ceremonies, embraces, and sincere expressions of gratitude from a thankful nation.
As the community gathered in unity, one message rang clear: the service of Vietnam Veterans will never be forgotten, and their impact continues to guide how we honor all who wear the uniform.
“Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”
